Royal Wedding

Royal Wedding

A lot of people got all enchanted by the said to be the Royal Wedding of the Century. And “a lot” includes me and my mom. It happened Friday here (Philippines) and I was out with my friends. I literally went home early just to see the wed. Ever since I saw their movie I fell in love with both of them. A prince having to fell in love with a commoner and marrying her, it was a total fairy tale coming true.

So as I watched, Prince William and Harry were the first ones who got into the church among the rest of Royal Family. They were followed by Kate’s mom and then Prince Charles and Camilla then the Queen with King Philip and lastly the Kate with his father, Michael. She looks really happy from the glass window of the car that’s taking her to her prince. And the crowd goes loud as she stepped down of the car revealing her long time talked-about Grace Kelly inspired wedding dress. And she looks so stunning. A lot are saying that Princess D’s was better but I liked hers way more. It was real simple, none too much designs and not too long, just perfectly right. Plus she looks sexy. Her dress fits her perfectly. Behind her was Pippa, her sister, wearing a much simpler dress but looked just as stunning as her. I’ve gotta say the Middleton’s quite got a body. Kate stumbled a bit upon the entrance but just looked at her father and smiled. She’s really cute when she smiles. I like her when she smiles. And so then the long red carpet walked began from the doors of Abbey to her prince.

It was literally a long walk from the entrance to the altar. I’ve never seen an entourage that long. Prince William and Prince Harry got their backs on her facing the altar. One, prolly the most, of my favorite parts of the wed was Prince Harry having to turned and looked at Kate as she walks down the aisle and whispered to William with a huge smile on his face saying “Wait till you should see her” and William was just standing waiting until he could see her.

Prince Harry: "Wait 'til you should see her"

As Kate reached the altar with her father the first thing William, the second from my favorites, ever said was “You look beautiful… perfect” Prince William looks so cute when he smiles. It’s like he does it really shyly all the time. I’ve never seen him laugh or even smile like Prince Harry does. And then the ceremony began. They were blessed and some traditional stuffs and said there vows. There was a little trouble with the ring though. I thought it wouldn’t fit but after some squish there it go, perfectly fit. Another of my favorites was the part where they were seating beside each other and when the priest said something about “decision they had made” they looked at each other and smiled. And it made me smiled as well. Trust me, this whole William and Kate’s thing makes me smile big time.

After the ceremony they both walked down the aisle as husband and wife. They did the traditional “bowing down to the queen” thing as they went out. They were cute together but I found something way cuter. It was Prince Harry and Pippa walking down the aisle as well behind the just-weds with Pippa holding Harry’s arms and they were like talking and smiling and laughing. It was really cute. As the couple went out to the crowd’s sight everyone went loud again waving their flags, saying their cheers and stuffs. And then they both waved at the people as they were picked up by their horse-drawn carriage.

They paraded from the Abbey to the Buckingham palace where the reception hosted by the queen is. It was quite a long travel and what’s amazing is that there was never a time that the crowd’s cheers stopped from the Abbey all the way to the palace. And so was the couple’s waving and smiling. They look so in love like really in love with all those quick glances and then they’d smile at each other. It definitely brought out the ‘barbie’ in me. And then as they arrived at the palace with the rest of guests the crowd waited for the highlight of the day, the Balcony Kiss.

All set to the Buckingham Palace.

Waving at the endless line of people all the way to the palace.

As soon as all had entered the palace the officers let the crowd come close to the gates. I was really impressed by the London people’s discipline. In a super huge crowd like that, there wasn’t any accident or whatever. There were no pushing and fighting. They were all much disciplined. I thought if that happens here, it’d be a total riot. And so the wait was over when the Royal family stepped out of the balcony and Kate was really cute when she went out and she was like “Oh wow!” prolly got overwhelmed with the crowd. Who wouldn’t? And there was waving and waving. Prince Harry and Pippa was standing beside each other all smiles to the crowd. Prince Harry was even laughing “finding it all very funny” as the newsman covering had said during the live coverage. And then William said to Kate- judging by the movement of his lips- “should we kiss?” and then Kate nodded and then the first kiss was made witnessed to the crowd. And the cheers went louder and they asked for another one. And the William asked Kate- judging by the movement of his lips again- “one more?” and then the second kiss was done. It was actually longer than the first one and then after William said to the crowd “That’s it… no more” And then they stayed for a while and went inside the palace again. After the reception Prince William and Kate got out of the Buckingham to Prince Charles’s palace with a vintage car for the night’s reception to be hosted by Prince Charles himself.

And then the whole wedding thing was all over the television. There was like 10 consecutive channels in my cable covering the wedding. It was a love-filled day for a lot of us. It’s like everything stopped to witness two people so in love vowing to be in love with each other for the rest of their life. Waitie-Katie truly waits no more. It was nice seeing things like that. Makes a lot of people believe in love for a moment. Well, I guess, Disney was right after all. Fairytales do exist.
